City Planning handles all active development projects. From business licenses, signs, zoning, historic preservation, building permits, to business licensing, we handle the development process from start to finish.
Planning and Zoning division
The Planning and Zoning Division is tasked with administering the zoning, subdivision, and historic preservation ordinances. They process zoning requests, and verify zoning compliance for all new developments and business. Our staff also prepare applications and recommendation for the Planning Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission.
Permits and Inspections Division
The Building Permits and Inspections Division is committed to the accurate and efficient processing of permit applications and site inspections. Our staff is also tasked with educating the public and our customers regarding the adopted codes and the permitting process.

The Signs and License Division is responsible for reviewing and approving applications for sign permits. Signs inspectors are responsible for locating illegal signs and notifying owners to correct the violation or risk being fined
